Halloween - Children are out for tricks and treats

Children are out of their houses
Wearing ghoulish robes painted bloody
Big carved pumpkins on their faces

Evil monsters, ghosts and witches
Knocking on every door in the alley
Children are out of their houses

Unreal broomsticks, axes and maces
"Trick or treat?" they ask for candy
Carved scary turnips on their faces

Teenagers making horrific noises
They are enjoying a halloween party
Children are out of their houses

Elders join in the fun themselves
Vampires, werewolves, demons are spooky
Bloody teeth, red eyes on their faces

Its a holiday for relieving stresses
Yet some fear while some enjoy amply
Children are out of their houses
Chunks of candy on their pumpkin faces

I loved Halloween as a kid, but I find it just as fun as an adult, decorating the house, carving pumpkins and handing out goodies to all the little goblins.

I like that every other line has either "Children are out of their houses" or "...on their faces." And then, in the last stanza, you put the two together:
"Children are out of their houses
Chunks of candy on their pumpkin faces"
Repetition, rhythm and rhyme are part of why I am into poetry.
