Diwali - Haiku Series

Silent, orb-less night
Pitch black, devoid of brightness -
Clay lamps lit - hope, joy

Darkness unto light
Earthen lamps, candles in rows
Rich celebrations

Colorful fireworks
Ah! scent of bursting crackers -
Rife hearts illumined

No end to gaiety
Glowing sticks clasped between hands
Shining eyes in awe

Sweets exchanged among
Brotherhood, togetherness
Inner light wakened

A lesson for all -
Ignorance, evil forfeit
Wisdom, good triumph

I wish a very happy Diwali to all my fellow bloggers...

You have captured the festival very well with your words.

Would have loved to see many earthen oil wick lamps in here as it is the festival of lights :)
